Quality Assurance
Every file on Teachable has been checked and reviewed by several teachers before it goes on sale. We take care of quality so you don’t waste your time.
1. Basic checks
Teachable files have to fulfil basic content criteria: no copyrighted material, no duplicates and (as a rule of thumb) something that would have taken at least an hour for a teacher to make from scratch. Our formatting guidelines are here for all to see.
2. Editing of the files
Our group of teacher-editors check through the files for factual inaccuracies, formatting problems, and general suitability for the class and age group. Material that is too wordy for a year six class would get rejected, as would an overly simple presentation for a 17-year-old audience. We love creative ideas, but we’re sticklers for grammar and spelling.
3. Moderator reviews
Twice a year our editors and advisors meet to discuss a range of the new content: whether it is useful for teachers, whether it meets current teaching objectives and is all of high quality. This peer review makes sure quality standards are consistent across age groups and subjects.
4. Peer Review
We allow teachers to download a certain volume of content for free to give their feedback. We aim to get at least 3 reviews before the resource goes on sale, and if you don’t like it we wouldn’t expect anyone to pay for it.
