Google the slave trade

Monday, March 19th, 2012

Do you want to use Google in your Citizenship lessons?  This resource shows you how!  This lesson instructs students to use Google Search to research the slave trade and how the slave triangle developed. They then use the information they have found to create a map (using Google My Maps) and explore Africa before slavery and create a map showing information about different african civilizations. This is great for Key Stage 3 Citizenship, helping students to consider and discuss the view of the European slave traders that Africans were uncivilised.

“It brought the issue to life.”
